Karen Lee Turner, Ed.D.
Karen Lee Turner is an artist, author, educator, and retreat leader. She holds a master’s degree in counseling and a doctorate in educational leadership from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development.
Her essays have been published in the award-winning spiritual life journal, Weavings, as well as Leading from Within: Poetry that Sustains the Courage to Lead.
For the past thirty years she has taught courses and led retreats for business, academic, healthcare, and spiritual groups. She is a Lilly Endowment grant awardee for her work as a liturgical musician.
These days, Karen Lee writes, paints, and designs learning experiences in her colorful, light-filled studio just outside of Nashville where she is assisted by her two Maine Coon cats.
Her work continues to be inspired by her late husband and creative partner, the poet, Nevin Compton Trammell.
